We provide advice on formulation, review and update of human resource policy manuals to ensure compliance with current labour laws and best practices We also conduct training sessions to ensure effective compliance; support and advise on routine employment issues such as terms of engagement, disciplinary matters and grievance handling; undertake engagements with relevant stakeholders; draft and review human resources manuals, policies and plans; advise on restructuring and redundancies; advise on labour relations; and advise on occupational health and safety. Our employment practice places particular emphasis on strategic advisory and direct involvement within the business operation to manage risk.

We provide representation on contentious matters, including industrial relations activity. We have consistently proven our ability to find practical, commercial solutions for the employment disputes.
Pensions
Our pensions practice handles the full spectrum of pensions matters. We advise on benefit set- up, drafting of trust deeds and rules, registration of schemes, commercial and investment issues affecting schemes and pensions funds’ restructuring, mergers and liquidation.
Corporate Immigration
Our corporate immigration team assists international and Ugandan companies with the immigration requirements associated with importing foreign skills into the mainstream employment market and specialised markets such as oil and gas and non-profit organisations. Our corporate immigration lawyers have a specialist knowledge of Uganda’s immigration laws and practice and enjoy a productive relationship with the Directorate of National Citizenship and Immigration Control.
We provide assistance in processing a range of work authorization facilities such as work permits and special passes, dependant facilities such as dependant and student passes, and business visa facilities. We act as exclusive corporate immigration counsel in Uganda to Fragomen, the world’s leading immigration law firm, and also act for Baker Hughes, IBM Africa, British American Tobacco Uganda, Stanbic Bank Uganda and Vivo Energy Uganda on a range of corporate immigration matters.
