Ivan Wesonga

Ivan is an Advocate of the High court of Uganda with over 10 years of practical experience. He has spent a substantial part of his practice as inhouse Counsel for several multinationals including Gapco Uganda Limited, Chevron and Total where he was both Head of Legal & Company Secretary. His training and exposure in areas of Business Administration added yet another dimension and understanding of the business world, its demands, challenges and solutions. The mix of Legal background and business puts him in a pole position to give practical, feasible, tax efficient and business-like solutions to Clients’ challenges.

Ivan has horned alot of experience in structuring complex multinational transactions, tax, Legal drafting, Corporate Governance, and international trade. He is a distinguished Legal Expert in the oil and gas industry, with extensive experience in Mergers & acquisitions that saw him play a pivotal role in the acquisitions of Chevron (2009) and GAPCO (2017) by Total in Uganda. Ivan is skilled in driving business strategies, risk management, HR management and compliance. He understands the Legal and Corporate business frame work in the Oil and gas industry in East Africa.
