• Contracting: We handle all kinds of commercial contracts, including mainstream contract and document reviews to complex contracting aspects such joint venture arrangements, memoranda of understanding, construction contracts and service level agreements.
• Mergers and Acquisitions: We possess expertise in corporate acquisitions, mergers and demergers.
• Insurance: Our insurance sector expertise covers insurance regulation, insurance contract law, intermediaries in insurance, insurance company law and disputes arising out of the contract of insurance.
• Intellectual Property: We conduct registrations and renewals of various intellectual property rights, notably trademarks, at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau. We provide legal services along the entire breath of the trademark’s registration chain, including prosecuting and defending trademark oppositions.
• Technology: Our information and communications technology (ICT) team provide advice on ICT contracts and contract management, software licensing, distribution, intellectual property issues and tax issues relevant to the procurement of ICT equipment.
• Procurement: We advise organisations on compliance with procurement requirements under the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act 2003, the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Regulations 2005 and the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets (Amendment) Act 2011. We also counsel private entities on the development of internal procurement policies and compliance with public procurement law when dealing with public bodies.
